How many kilometres do I cycle at large?

How much CO2 do I avoid thereby?

How many expenses for a car do I save?

How many calories do I burn through cycling?

"My statistics" provides impressive answers.

How it works in a nutshell

Enter your activities

For each calculated route and each uploaded path Naviki provides the menu item "My activities", represented by the tree symbol:

Click on the tree and find the following form to enter how often you cycle the respective path and whether you favour the bike over the car, for example:

"My statistics" - self-acting and always up-to-date

By means of your specifications as to several routes and paths Naviki automatically calculates your individual statistics. If you, for example, specify to cycle a certain path semi-daily, Naviki adds the respective data to "My statistics" on your personified page MY NAVIKI / NEWS day-to-day:

If you don't cycle a path any longer or if the frequency changes, you can easily enter your activities on the respective path: Go to MY NAVIKI / PATHS and click on "DEFINE CONTENTS". Then activate the checkbox "My current paths with multiple activities". Now choose the respective path. After it appeared on the map open the dialogue "My activities" through a click on the tree. Now enter your activities.

To use the functions explained on this page you must be logged in.

Even better: edit your profile page

Enter your individual data on MY NAVIKI / PROFILE. Then Naviki automatically incorporates these data instead of average values and your statistics will be even more individual:

Basics: how Naviki calculates

Naviki calculates "My statistics" taking into account your individual profile data in case you are logged in and filled in your profile respectively; if not, Naviki will apply European mean values for CO2 emissions, car costs and calorie consumption.

The information provided in the the box "My statistics" for methodological reasons cannot be absolutely precise or scientifically evidence-based. Our target is rather to provide individualised estimations and to give you an impression of the potentials of cycling for climate protection, personal fitness and stewardship of available resources.

CO2 avoidance

We quote your CO2 avoidance as the amount of CO2 that you don‘t emit by using the bicycle instead of a car. Naviki calculates your CO2 avoidance based on the average CO2 output of all cars in Europe. In case you are logged in at Naviki and entered information about a particular car in your profile, Naviki will apply these values for its calculation. If you specify using public transport in the form "My activities on this path" Naviki will not understand this as avoiding CO2. Thereby we act on the assumption that the public transport vehicles are on their way in any case. Furthermore public transport and cycling establish the environmentally friendly and energy efficient ecomobility transport mode.

Car costs

To calculate your savings in the field of car costs Naviki considers fuel expenses and other typical car costs like insurance, taxes, maintenance and wastage. In case you are logged in at Naviki and entered information about a particular car in your profile, Naviki will apply these values or typical values of your respective vehicle class within its calculation.

Calorie consumption

Naviki determines the calorie consumption of your bicycle usage by means of its own specific calculation formula. It comprises the length of the path, altitude difference, friction, air resistance, acceleration of gravity and human basic metabolic rate. In case you are logged in at Naviki and entered respective information in your profile, Naviki will apply your individual age, body height, gender and weight.
